Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2025 sale has come under fire after a large number of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro orders were abruptly cancelled, leaving many buyers frustrated and questioning the integrity of the platform.
Customers reported that they had successfully completed payments for the iPhones, which were listed at Rs 51,999 for the iPhone 16 and Rs 69,999 for the iPhone 16 Pro during exclusive Black and Plus member offers. However, within hours, numerous orders were marked as “cancelled” with vague explanations such as “payment failure,” despite confirmation of successful transactions.
The gap between confirmed payments and cancelled orders has led buyers to accuse Flipkart of using highly discounted iPhone listings to drive traffic without fulfilling most orders. Many users described the situation as misleading, with some labeling it a potential scam on social media platforms.
On X (formerly Twitter), hashtags such as #FlipkartScam and #BigBillionDayScam went viral as affected buyers shared screenshots of cancelled orders and refund delays. Several users highlighted that while some refunds were eventually processed, many others remained pending, intensifying frustration and doubts about the platform’s practices.
Reports indicate that a small fraction of Plus members received their iPhones, but most customers are still waiting for refunds. Buyers expressed concerns that Flipkart could be temporarily holding customer payments as a cash float during the sale period. The absence of a defined timeline for refunds has fueled suspicions of financial mismanagement.
As of September 26, 2025, Flipkart has not issued a formal statement addressing the mass cancellations or explaining the reasons behind them.
